Last Thursday, 14 December took place the awards ceremony of the first Christmas Decorations Contest of the Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol: a fun, family oriented and very emotional event that allowed us to spend a few hours with local residents and toast together for Happy Holidays. From Grupo VAPF we want to thank all the neighbors who participated in the contest; all of them did a great job, which made the task of the jury very difficult. Shortly we will bring you a photo gallery with the decorations of the participating houses, as well as the awards ceremony. Today we attach to this post the photo of the winners in the category of "Outdoor Decoration-Garden and lighting." Next year we will repeat the contest as this year we had a very good experience and it was a pleasure to start the Christmas celebrations in such a good company. With the arrival of Christmas holidays, the Teulada-Moraira Auditorium kicks of a season of important events to enjoy with the family, and today you can check  in this post the information about the most remarkable events schedule to be held in the Marina Alta venue: Saturday 30 December at 19:00 h.: Moscow Ballet performs "Don Quixote" Ballet The Moscow Ballet brings us its wonderful and spectacular version of "Don Quixote" with a passionate and frenetic staging of the chapter "The Wedding of Camacho" of the famous work of Miguel de Cervantes, accompanied  by the great score by Ludwig Minkus. This year, we wanted Christmas to be more present in the Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, so we opted to decorate the accesses to the development and the Grupo VAPF information and sales offices son you can enjoy the holidays’ light and color. Many of you have already had the opportunity to see the Christmas decorations, especially those who have the privilege to reside throughout the year in Cumbre del Sol. For those who have not had the opportunity to see them, today we would like to share some photos. Grupo VAPF Group has made an economic donation to the organization Doctors Without Borders, thus becoming a Company Without Borders. Doctors Without Borders –or Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)- is a medical-humanitarian NGO that assists people threatened by armed conflicts, violence, epidemics or neglected diseases, natural disasters and exclusion from medical care. The association gathers mostly a doctor and a member of heath care services  although there are also other professionals working alongside the medical team. Doctors Without Borders was founded in 1971 as a medical action independent of geopolitical interests, which goes where is require by people in medical distress in need of urgent medical assistance, and without discrimination based on race, religion or politics. The humanitarian work of DWB is based on the principles and values ​​established in its statutes: neutrality, impartiality, non-discrimination, personal commitment and medical ethics. "Medical action and testimony" is the double social mission of DWB, which was created by doctors and journalists. By making direct attention, DWB is a first-hand witness that supports the people affected by crises, and has the capacity to influence those who have the first responsibility to respond. Like medical action, the activities for the testimony and influence are carried out from the independence of any political, economic or religious position.

As we already know, Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol is located on a privileged place regarding its climate, sea proximity and other natural features that also are related to the availability of natural products for the fine gastronomy. On 23 November the local cuisine quality was once again recognized: two restaurants in the Marina Alta were awarded with a Michelin Guide star. The restaurants "Audrey's by Rafa Soler" in Calpe and "El Rodat de Xàbia" in Jávea, both located very close to Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. Chefs Nazario Cano from "El Rodat de Xàbia" and Rafa Soler from "Audrey's by Rafa" put the Marina Alta area within cutting-edge haute cuisine circuit, and increase the number of Michelin stars to the province of Alicante to 12. We highly recommend to do not miss the opportunity to enjoy a delicious dish in these restaurants! Bon appetite!

Grupo VAPF signed an economic collaboration agreement with the payaSOSpital organization, a non-profit association founded in 1999 that brings joy and amusement to hospitalized children in the Valencian Region, with performances by professional clowns, adapted to each child and coordinated with the medical personnel. PayaSOSpitla is a founding member of the Federation of European Hospital Clown Organizations. The mission of payaSOSpital is to improve the life quality of these children, their families and the staff that serves them, helping them to better withstand hospital stays, by taking the drama out of the medical environment and offering moments of relaxation and distraction through humor, laughter and the fantasy. PayaSOSpital carries out its regular programs mainly in hospitals with children patients suffering from cancer or other diseases that require long stays.  

Christmas is coming and the Teulada-Moraira Auditorium is organizing the seasonal schedule to bring joy to all the local residents. This play is a revision of the children's classic "The Three Little Pigs", but played by three sows that are followers of pop star Wolf. There will amazing adventures and unexpected plot twists. Admission price: 10 €. Thursday 28 December at 20:00 h.: Christmas Concert with the Youth Orchestra of the Province of Alicante. The Youth Orchestra will perform in Teulada-Moraira in its Christmas presenting the following program: Beethoven’s Concert for Piano and Orchestra nº 5 in E flat majo, Hungarian Dances of Brahms and the Tea commissioned work, in commemoration of the Miguel Hernández year composed by S. Herrero . Piano will be played by Carlos Santo. The orchestra will be directed by Francisco Maestre. Free admission, limited to the venue capacity.
