The short PR CV 354 Granadella route runs entirely through the forest reserve of the same name, which borders the Cumbre del Sol residential development in Benitachell. The area runs down to the sea and is of great ecological, landscape and cultural value. The beauty of this route is its combination of sea and mountains, with gorgeous views of the cliffs, Montgó Massif, and the valley and bay of Javea.
This route is circular and classified as medium difficulty. Described below is its circuit taking in Granadella Cove, Granadella Castle, Granadella Viewpoint and Levante Viewpoint.
Information on and description of PR CV 354 Granadella route:
- Start the route in Granadella Cove car park, where you will find a tarmac track leading upwards.
- On arrival at a junction, leave the track on your left and take the track that becomes a path.
- The first section has a wooden handrail on the right and offers views of a basin covered with vegetation and an old ochre mine worked at the end of the 19th century. There is a spectacular balcony looking out over the cove towards Isla del Descubridor and the Torre D’Ambolo.
- Then, and with care, go down towards the Xapa Ravine.
- On arrival at a junction, take time to leave the path and have a look at the Morro de la Granadella, where Granadella Castle is located.
- Return to the path and continue walking for around 350 metres when you turn left onto a path which leads to the Levante Viewpoint, a good spot to have a rest and enjoy the views of Moraira and Ifach Rock in Calpe.
- From here, take the path which continues for 750 metres until arriving at the junction with the Teularia detour.
- Further on, and having passed a pool on your left, you will come to a second junction which is for the Gurugú detour.
- Following a southerly direction, take the path on the right and follow it to its end, where it turns right and leads down into a ravine.

- Go past some old farmhouses, turn right and cross the ravine.
- On the other side of the ravine, turn right again and then, after 50 metres, take the path that goes left and offers magnificent sea views of the Bay of Javea, the Cape of San Antonio and the Montgó Massif, until arriving at a water tank on your left, go past it and carry on until you arrive at a forest lookout tower.
- You will arrive at a junction where you take the path leading to Granadella Viewpoint, which offers panoramic views of the forest reserve.
- Carry on until you find a path to the left; carry on until finding a path that continues left. A little further on we leave this path to take another which turns into a lane, and a little way along you will see an electricity pylon where you will begin the descent through a ravine.
- Follow the ravine downwards, go underneath a road bridge and come up onto the road.
- 200 metres further on you will be back at the Granadella Cove car park, the start and end point of the PR CV 354 Granadella route.
