After such a successful event last year, we decided to celebrate the second edition of the Day of the Tree at Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort once more! This event took place on May 21st. In this second edition, we collaborated again with the international Lady Elizabeth School, this year, working specifically with students from YEAR 1, between the ages of 5 and 6. The students were accompanied by school teachers, members of the town council of Poble Nou de Benitatxell, VAPF employees, and all the neighbours at Cumbre del Sol that were interested in joining this activity in which we planted 150 pine trees together.

At VAPF, we know how important it is to develop initiatives to protect the environment. We work continuously to make sure we do our part to look after the unique and natural enclave where we live. Therefore, this initiative forms part of our corporate social responsibility, in which we aim to repopulate the green areas of Cumbre del Sol and raise awareness among younger generations. We hope to teach them the importance of respecting nature and looking after the environment.

Day of the Tree activities began at 9:00 in the morning after picking up the students and taking them to the area where the trees were being planted on a nearby plot of land given by the Poble Nou de Benitatxell Town Hall. Upon arrival, Jorge Pascual, the Education and Environment Councillor, welcomed them and Vicente Mestre, the Commercial and Marketing Director of the VAPF Group, thanked everyone for their participation and highlighted the importance of these initiatives in a natural environment such as the one that surrounded Cumbre del Sol. Next, the process of planting the trees was explained to the attendees and they went to work together as a team.

VAPF made the most of the occasion and provided all the necessary material for planting, including the trees and the gardening materials that they would need. The students of the Lady Elizabeth school were given a pack that included a backpack, a cap, water and a surprise planting kit to encourage them to plant a tree at home. This was a small way to thank them for their assistance and collaboration on such a special day for us.

After this fun day, the event ended at 11:30 and the students were given a ride back to the school.

At VAPF, we are proud of this initiative and hope to turn it into an annual tradition. Our goal is that all those who form part of the Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort community participate actively and continue working together to protect the environment.
