Poble Nou de Benitatxell “puts the heart” into the Cycling Tour of Spain and takes the opportunity of all the attention gathered around this sporting event with the organization of several events aimed to raise awareness about the cardiac health in sports.
Check below the events scheduled for tomorrow Friday 9 September:
12:00 h. at the Espai Abiar Cultural Center (in front of police station): lectures by cardiologists from Benidorm Clinic hospital. Blood pressure will be taken to all who wish so. In addition the Benidorm Clinic Hospital will give away vouchers for a free cardiological check that may take place in in Moraira (former Asistel clinic).
Local pharmacist Jose Torres will also speak in this lecture on nutrition and health from an amateur cyclist point of view. Torres will who also give away free bonuses for diabetes and cholesterol measures at his pharmacy.
A giant #benitatxell and heart shaped balloon will be located at on top of Puig de la Llorença (Cumbre del Sol). This ballon is part of a campaign complemented by dynamic social networking and the creation of the hashtags #coralavolta #corazonalavuelta
You can enjoy the tour in Benitachell as the cyclist pass through Vicente Pastor St. from Xàbia and continue down the Trinquete St., Mayor and La Paz Streets and Alicante Avenue towards Teulada.
Competitors are expected at about 11:41 h. so the streets will be closed to traffic at 11:30 h. The arrival of the first cyclist is scheduled at 13:44 and the last at 17:02 h.
