The final shutdown of analogue broadcasting in Spain is scheduled to take place on 3 April 2010; in the Community of Valencia the second stage of the shutdown will take place between December 2009 and January 2010.
Over the coming months in the Community of Valencia, the second stage of the National Programme for Switchover to DTT will take place. The second stage will affect 149 municipalities in Valencia, 16 in Alicante and 109 in Castellón, the shutdown taking place between December 2009 and January 2010.
Along with the Community of Valencia, the Communities of Cantabria, Navarre, La Rioja, Aragon, the Basque Country, Catalonia, Andalusia, Castilla y León, Castilla la Mancha, Extremadura, the Canary Islands and Galicia will be affected by this shutdown.
Figures provided by the Ministry indicate that over 85% of Spanish households are already using Digital Television channelsand that the DTT viewing share is already over 48.5%, higher than analogue television by almost 19 points. Coverage levels are around 98%, whilst in those areas where there is no reception for analogue TV and therefore not for DTT either, satellite receivers will be installed to provide television broadcast reception services.
For the municipality of Poble Nou de Benitachell, and specifically for Cumbre del Sol residential complex, the shutdown of analogue broadcasting is scheduled to take place in the third stage of the National Programme for Switchover to DTT, the final analogue broadcast date being 3 April 2010.
