Xaló Rambling: Sierra de Bernia PR-V7 route on Sunday 7 December 2008. Guided rambling excursion offered free. FAMILY TOURISM PROGRAMME IN BENISSA AND VALL DE POP.
As part of the FAMILY TOURISM PROGRAMME IN BENISSA AND VALL DE POP, Benissa town council has organised a rambling excursion for Sunday 7 December 2008.
For this occasion, the route selected is the Sierra de Bérnia PR-V7 route.
The route takes approximately three and a half hours, covers 8 Km and is classed as medium-high difficulty level.
Enrolment on all excursions organised by Benissa town council is free, and those taking part are provided with free insurance cover. All excursions set off at 09:00h. For excursions from Benissa the meeting point is Benissa Tourist Information Office in Avenida del País Valencia (next to ‘Restaurante Frau’), whilst for excursions from other towns and villages in Vall del Pop the meeting point will be the main square of the town or village in question.
Sunday 7 December: Xaló: Sierra de Bèrnia (PR-V7).
This route is the one that best shows the Sierra de Bèrnia, tracing a circular path around it. The route takes us from Les Cases de Bèrnia to Font de Bèrnia and through the Forat Pass until we arrive at Bèrnia Fort, then returning to Les Cases de Bèrnia.
All along this route we can enjoy marvellous views of Marina Alta and some of this area’s mountains. Before arriving at Forat Pass we can take in panoramic views of the Sierra del Ferrer, the Montgo Massif and La Solana and the towns of Benissa, Benitachell y Teulada-Moraira. Once through the Pass the views change and we can admire the Sierra de Aitana, El Puig Campana, Ponoig and Sierra Helada and views of the towns of Altea, Benidorm, Callosa d’En Sarriá, Polop and La Nucia.
