Starting on Sunday 5 October, the open-air flea market is being reinstated in the new car park on Teulada-Moraira industrial estate.
There are 140 stalls and parking spaces for around 500 vehicles. The flea market is a tradition that the town is reviving, since for many years it was always held in the same place but had to be moved to Pedreguer due to widening and improvement works on the road into town and the works on the industrial estate’s new car park.
The flea market is organised by the Department of services, infrastructure and procurement. The flea market stalls hold a temporary municipal licence whilst the market stalls are given an annual licence.
The flea market section will sell all kinds of used or second-hand articles, furniture, household equipment and clothes, and the market proper will sell all sorts of articles other than fruit and vegetables, cured meats, conserves, and bread and cakes, since these products are sold in the market held on Wednesdays in Teulada and on Fridays in Moraira.
The first flea market was a great success, visited by a large number of residents from the Marina Alta area; it undoubtedly offers many tempting bargains and also adds a further element to the town’s leisure activity options.
