Last Sunday 3 August the I Junior Tennis Tournament took place in the Cumbre del Sol Development Sports Centre.
Last Sunday 3 August the youngsters could enjoy the facilities of the Cumbre del Sol Development Sports Centre, in Benitachell, where the I Cumbre del Sol Junior Tennis Tournament took place.
The provisional opening of the tennis and paddle tennis courts is proving to be a great success. The courts are just the first stage of a more ambitious project for the Sports Centre to enable it to offer many more leisure and sport activities.
The residents have supported this PRE-OPENING whole-heartedly and two tournaments have already been held, both attracting a large number of competitors: I Cumbre del Sol Paddle Tennis Tournament and I Junior Tennis Tournament.
The Junior Tennis Tournament was held last Sunday 3 August. The competition was divided into two categories: mini-tennis for the younger children and tennis for the older children. Fourteen children of different nationalities and different age groups entered the competition. All participants received a sash from Grupo VAPF and a medal showing that they had taken part, and the winners were awarded a cup.
The mini-tennis winner was 11 year-old KATIE and runner-up was ELOY, also 11 years old.
In the tennis for older children category, the champion was JAMES, 16 years old, and the runner-up was VANESSA, 14 years old.
The day was a huge success; the youngsters enjoyed competing and the barbecue meal that followed the tournament.
More tournaments will shortly be organised in the Cumbre del Sol Sports Centre. In the meantime, if you would like to train and enjoy the facilities, you can reserve a court by calling Angelika Pirwitz on 664 490 138 after 14:30h.
Cumbre del Sol: more leisure activities, more sport, more services day by day - and more value for your property.
