This year sees the XXI edition of the Castillo de la Olla fireworks display in Altea, a display that forms part of the national calendar of fireworks events.
On Saturday night 9 August we have a date at the Castillo de L'Olla in Altea at 24:00. The night skies will be lit up by an incredible fireworks display, a tourist attraction attended by a large number of boats in Altea Bay and many spectators on the beach, who gather to watch this beautiful event which forms part of the national pyrotechnics calendar.
The Castillo de L'Olla fireworks display is one of the most well known events of the San Lorenzo Fiestas which take place in Altea from 8 to 11 August. The display is the work of the prestigious pyrotechnics company Zamorano Caballer and is organised by the "Brotherhood of Castell de L'Olla" assisted by the San Lorenzo Fiestas 2008 Committee. After the fireworks display there is a public dance with music by the Orquesta Andromeda and after that a discotheque.
More than two thousands kilos of gunpowder will be detonated and it is a sure bet that this year there will be another pyrotechnic novelty to amaze us, as is the custom with Miguel Zamorano Caballer. The Castell de L'Olla brings together over 50,000 spectators eager to enjoy the spectacle of light, gunpowder and music.
The explosion of gunpowder can be heard from all the neighbouring towns and the skies are filled with light and colour - don't miss the showiest fireworks display of the summer.
Enjoy and take part in the Costa Blanca events, and take your suitcase home packed with good memories and feelings.
