The XII Edition of the Campus Party is under way. The event was inaugurated on Monday at 12 midday.
The XII Edition of the Campus Party is already under way. From 28 July to 3 August thousands of young people from all over Spain meet in Valencia in over 60,000 square metres distributed across various pavilions on the Valencia Showground. 6000 computers, a bandwidth of 7.5 Gb, 80 kilometres of network cabling, 10 kilometres of fibre optic cabling, 300 hours dedicated to workshops, conferences and activities, 3000 tents, 200 individuals working to ensure that all goes well and above all knowledge, a great deal of knowledge and talent.
Present at the opening ceremony which took place on Monday 28 at 12 midday was Sir Tim Berners-Lee, considered to be the father of the Internet, the creator of the HTML language, the HTTP protocol and the URL localization system.
The humorous note came courtesy of Joaquin Reyes, comedian, actor and creator of the TV comedy sketch programmes Hora Chanante and Muchachada Nui, whilst the technology and innovation side of things was left to the cyberpresenter whom we are seeing for the first time in Spain, the Japanese robot Actroid_Der 2.
The event's director Miguel Angel Exposito highlights that the 'campus dwellers' not only share ideas, experiences and inventions, but are also an authentic source of content generated by participants thanks to their experiences at the Campus Party, writing software programmes and designing computer tools that are then posted on the net to be shared with the entire world. The ultimate aim is that for this week, Valencia becomes the world centre of content creation.
A guaranteed success which positions the Campus Party as the largest e-entertainment event in the world and where else but in Valencia, which over recent years has established itself as a modern, up-to-the-minute city able to host all kinds of events and contribute innovation, modernity and perfection.
