2008 Saint’s Day fiestas in Poble Nou de Benitachell in honour of St Mary Magdalene in Poble Nou de Benitachell, from 18th July to 1st August.
Shortly after finishing the ‘Moors and Christians’ fiestas, the town of Benitachell puts its glad rags on again to celebrate its saint’s day fiestas in honour of St Mary Magdalene, St Roque, St Christopher and St Jaime.
Over these days the town streets are full of religious ceremonies, fireworks, music, bull running and lots more. Don’t miss any of the major and typical festivities:
Tuesday 22: Fiesta in honour of St Mary Magdalene
- 08:00h. Peeling of Bells.
- 12:00h. Mass sung by the parish choir followed by ‘Mascletá’ (a cacophony of fireworks)
- 21:00h. Procession and Fireworks display.
- 00:00h. Public dance with “La SELVA” band.
Wednesday 23: Fiesta in honour of St Roque.
- 12:00h. Mass sung by parish choir.
- 00:00h. “Los BRADMIS” band
Thursday 24: Fiesta in honour of St Christopher.
- 12:00h. Mass followed by blessing of vehicles in Plaza del Mercado.
- 19:00h. Horse and carriage procession.
- 00:00h. Rock concert with Paral.lel 84, Skalissai i Mugroman.
Friday 25: Fiesta in honour of St Jaime.
- 12:00h. Mass and at 21:00h procession.
- 00:00h. Public dance with ZEPPELIN BAND.
Saturday 26:
- 13:30h. Paella competition, children’s playground, traditional “danses” dancing.
- 00:00h. Public dance with ‘la TRIBU’ band.
Sunday 27, Monday 28, Tuesday 29, Wednesday 30, Thursday 31 and Friday 1 August:
- 19:30h “Bous al Carrer” bull running
- 22:00h. Evening meal for all public.
- 00:00h. Bulls and bulls with flaming torches attached to their horns.
